October 2022 Fandom: Blue is the Warmest Color Song: Exile by Taylor Swift feat. Bon Iver Program: VegasPro 18 Coloring: I used SunnyTutorials Winter as a backdrop, and then created the mask to isolate the blue by myself.   Description:  I've had this idea in my head for at least a year now where I would make this exact video using black, white, and the isolated color blue. Blue is such a strong motif in this film (it's in the title!), and is so regularly used throughout scenes, that I was intrigued how it would look visually to focus on. Especially because, as is made ironic by the title of the film, blue can be such a deeply depressing color. This is a sad video for a sad film, with a sad song. June, 2020 Fandom: Horns (2014) Song: Wicked Game cover by James Vincent McMorrow Description: "It's strange what desire can make foolish people do" I wanted to get this out before the start of June and nearly did. I finished editing over a week prior, rendered it, and it was a glitched out mess. I rendered it an additional four times with no luck, and then what do you know, the world fell apart (as if it wasn't fallen apart already) and my mind had been too preoccupied elsewhere. I rendered this a grand total of eight times to get the final product - piecing together what went right in each individual rendering. What must have made it so difficult to render was the blending mode to layer two scenes on top of one another. This is the second time I have EVER used blending mode on PowerDirector15 (first time was when I first got the product), as it is most fitting for these slow, emotional videos, artistic. I've had a lot of female icons I've looked up to over the years. I had a huge Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana phase. Also Vanessa Hudgens/Gabriella Montez during the HSM years. However, Emma is the one that has stuck with me for 17 years now - a favorite since I was 5. Hermione Granger is my favorite female character in existence. My go-to rule is to never vid a fandom unless it's completely finished (which kills a channel btw) because then it never becomes outdated. January, 2018 Fandom: Swiss Army Man (2016) Song: Life in Color by OneRepublic Description: "A suicidal man teaches a dead body why life is worth living" Daniel Radcliffe will always be bae It's always fun to vid a movie you've never vidded before. Definitely a challenge and certainly makes me proud. It's also the worst way to get views :) I wish this one got a little more attention. I remember being super happy commenting on another person's video, and having them randomly comment back that they loved my "Swiss Army Man" video. I was floored. I love Daniel Radcliffe because he chooses such visually exciting movies. This is the fourth movie of his (apart from Harry Potter) that I've made a vid for. I love the editing on this one. One of my favorites I've made. Again, little to no effects - just simple editing to clips, but the clips and the music speak for themselves. And I think the coloring turned out pretty good too.

September, 2017 Fandom: Beauty and the Beast (2017) Characters: Belle & Beast Song: Something Just Like This by The Chainsmokers feat. Coldplay Description: I have so many batb ideas it was hard to choose which one to do. But this was the original song I had in mind for the film. I heard it for the first time around the first time I saw the film and they just became closely associated in my heart. There was a fun irony to play with here, vidding a song about not needing a fairy tale life to a film that's a literal fairy tale. But in this adaptation, something that's very important is that it's not the glitz and glamour and magic that attract Belle and Beast to each other. That's what I love about it. Whenever Baz Lurhman makes a movie he truly has as much fun with it as possible. He maximizes the cinematic experience. As a shameless Daniel Radcliffe fan this is another film that I'm just like... if you happen to come across this video... go give the movie a watch. Daniel Radcliffe is a nerdy little gift. And holy crap, this one has a lot of views! Filling a void again I guess. These are underground, underrated movies with not enough videos to go around. Glad this one took off. I'm happy with the quality, as I got this from a Blu-Ray and not a DvD. It fits will lyrically. I had the time to do this over Christmas break as a sort of gift to myself.
